A Rainier man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Columbia County Circuit Court to causing the death of Christopher Heller in 2015.

Randolph Lee Pritchard, 51, pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and admitted to recklessly causing the death of Heller.

Heller, who lived in Rainier at the time, died in a Washington hospital in 2015 after he suffered injuries from blunt force trauma, Deputies said in the charging instrument.  The plea in state court culminated an investigation that began when Heller was found unconscious on the ground at work site located in the 68000 block of Whitney Road in the Rainier area in July. Deputies began a months long investigation and identified Pritchard as the only suspect.

Pritchard now awaits sentencing orders from the court.
