On May 2, 2015, a deputy working traffic on Pittsburg Rd, observed a vehicle driven by Enrique Naranjo, 29, Mexico,  being driven recklessly on Pittsburg Rd and Brinn Rd.The deputy attempted to make the traffic stop, but the chase was on.  Area police agencies responded to assist, but the suspect fled on foot and escaped – temporarily.

The following day two deputies, employing their knowledge of the area and their investigative skills were able to develop probable cause that Naranjo (who is reported to be in the United States illegally and had warrants for his arrest out of Multnomah County) was hiding out in a trailer on Anderson Rd.  They also developed probable cause to believe Naranjo had been delivering Methamphetamine in locations in South Columbia County. Deputies convinced the owner of the trailer to give up the wanted man, and promptly took him into custody after finding him hiding inside.

Deputies arrested Naranjo for Reckless Driving and Attempt to Elude, and served the arrest warrants for Multnomah County.  Naranjo’s back was severely scratched from the night before,  after he had run blindly through blackberry bushes.  They also requested and received a search warrant on the vehicle he used in his escape the day before.  The search warrant produced a small amount of Methamphetamine.
