|Three in Custody, Another Hospitalized after Violent Domestic Dispute in Deer Island|

Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a wild family brawl in Deer Island Tuesday afternoon that put one man in the hospital with critical injuries and ended up with three family members in jail.
Deputies responded to 31625 Canaan Rd. at 4:22 p.m. after a caller summoned them to the residence there, reporting that there had been a family fight where one man had been stabbed and was bleeding profusely.
Deputies--assisted by the Oregon State Police, the Columbia City and St. Helens Police Departments--responded to the scene to find that the stabbing had occurred when a man swinging a length of PVC pipe during a domestic dispute was stabbed in the belly with a long knife wielded by the son of the man’s girlfriend. Before law enforcement arrived, the stabbing victim’s sister had also responded to the scene and menaced both the suspect and the stabbing victim with a firearm.
The stabbing victim, Theodore McIntyre, 46, Deer Island was taken to Emanuel Hospital by Lifeflight helicopter with critical injuries. McIntyre’s current status is unknown.
Prior to his stabbing, McIntyre was reportedly involved with Margaret Fournier 43, Deer Island in a domestic dispute that had become physical
After deputies were able to sort out the details of what had actually occurred, they took Brandon Brown, 22, Seaside into custody for Assault Second Degree. He was lodged in the Columbia County Jail. Brown is the son of Fournier.
Also arrested was Dawn Teves, 50, Deer Island for menacing and Fournier was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of controlled substances. Fournier was lodged in the jail on the outstanding warrant, and Teves was booked for Menacing and later released.
